My blog is currently failure to thrive. Please do not call CPS (or Blog PS, blog protective services, that is) on me. I have a lot of half- written posts, not published. They include four different deliveries I encountered in one shift, that stupid “Mercy” show about a nurse, the recent data on US infant mortality, screaming during labor, and some posts on skin to skin care for infants and micro preemies. Whew. So many topics, so little time.
These factors have kept me from blogging:
- First grade. I actually finished first grade, but my current first grader is in the thick of it. She happens to be in a “gifted or accelerated” program, which is a blessing and a curse. Who knew I would be up all night Googling first grade curriculums at all hours of the night. I promised myself I would not be that mom….and here we are.
- My day job. Yes, I have an actual job caring for patients and such. I am in the process of writing/revising 16 maternal/child policies. Fun, fun, fun. I have actually developed a very annoying eye twitch from being on the computer so much. Anyone else ever had this?
- My body. I decided to take care of my body and stop blaming my kids for every extra pound I put on. I am not four years postpartum, I am overweight. I admit it. Time to take care of it.
- Sleep…..is…..Good!
Some one tell me how to balance mommyhood, wifehood, workhood, bloghood, friendshiphood and healthhood to equal a happy well balanced life. If Martha Stewart is reading, do not bother replying. I read somewhere that you only sleep four hours a night and your blood is made of ice water.
Night, night,
RR
