I celebrated Fourth of July early today by going to the beach with my hubby and kids. It was a great day full of sun, surf, and tattoos on toddlers. Real tattoos. Not the wash of with rubbing alcohol temporary Dora the Explorer tattoos.
The child that caught my eye in particular was maybe five years old, was morbidly obese, and had two very large tattoos. He had a huge cross on his right shoulder. He also had some sort of design (looked Tahitian) on his left pectoral area. His father was huge, as in built like a brick sh*t house, huge. A guy you do not want to look directly in the eye. A junk yard dog kind of a guy. A guy who also had tattoos all over his bulging biceps.
This family situation got me thinking (and I hate to think). Is it legal to have your kid tatted up? These tattoos are, ya know, permanent like. The kid certainly can not give informed consent. I won’t go into the toddler being morbidly obese, that’s for another post.
So, who out there is in the know? Is it legal to tattoo up your kid?
