The nurse blogger from Not in Therapeutic Range, sent me a post about her daughter’s pregnancies. It reinforces the fact that having a trusting relationship with your birth provider is key to having a positive birthing experience.
“Daughter had 2 miscarriages before they figured problem out. Had successful pregnancy but when she went into labor regular doc was on vacation and so associate was called in. She also had a stargazer and ended up with a c-section. Associate was nice but daughter missed her regular doc. Second pregnancy very bumpy preterm labor scare but labor was stalled till the 38th week. The day she went into labor regular doc wasn’t on call. Guess what..he came in anyway and she was able to have a VBAC after an uneventful 6 hour labor. There’s a picture of him giving her the thumbs up after the delivery. Awesome doc..it meant the world for her to have her regular guy there. Relationships between mommies and their ob-gyns can be so special.”
